Alrighty then, so you've got your safety or straight razor. You've got your shave brush, and your cream or puck. So how do you lather? Well, here some videos showing how to lather using soap pucks.
Now, as for shave creams that are designed for lathering with a brush (as opposed to simply rubbing it into your skin), here are some videos I've found to be good. The creams depicted are from Taylor of Old Bond Street, which I am presently using.
Whether you use a soap puck, a bowl of cream, or even cream out of a tube or can, it's important to know how to build a good slick lather for shaving. You'll want enough lubrication for your blade as it passes along your skin, the better to avoid irritation.
