This excellent seasonal soap is presently being sold as the last batch for the foreseeable future. It is pretty much the same as its regular Hydra counterpart, but with added menthol to mitigate the bitey effect of the citrus oils on skin. I was PIFed a tin of this and was able to snatch up a new one of the current batch. If you like this scent or are curious to try it, I recommend you get it before it disappears, because once sold out it's not coming back unless the makers receive enough demand for it.
The lather is nice and slick, owing to the glycerin and other ingredients. A lot of people can't sing the praises of tallow-based soaps enough, and certainly there is little room to argue especially when one considers the excellence of Stirling's mutton-base soaps and Oleo's duck-base line. But if you think a vegan soap can't produce an equally slick lather, think again. I'd put this up there with Stirling and Oleo for slickness, and I'd even venture to say I think it probably edges them out just a tiny bit.
As seasonal scents go, the blend of citrus oils makes for a powerful one and if you like having a citrus or other fruit scent for summer, this is definitely a keeper. When my new tin arrived in the mail the other day, I could smell the aroma through the unopened container. And when you open it up, it really hits you, but not so strong that you're put off by it.
This soap is being discontinued, as I stated, so if you're looking to try a vegan soap for the first time or you've used it and want more, now's the time to buy yourself a tin. Otherwise the only way you'll be able to enjoy it is if someone is willing to part with it via PIF.
